Is StudentsToCareer really free for students?
Yes. The core platform — Career Passport, verification, networking, mentorship and applying to opportunities — is free for students. Our revenue comes from institutions, employers and sponsors. You will never be asked to pay to apply for a job.
How do I get the Verified Student badge?
Add your institutional email address during registration (or later in Settings) and click the confirmation link we send to it. Your personal email stays your sign-in address; the institutional address is only used for verification.
How do ABIEdu credentials appear on my passport?
When you complete an ABIEdu microcredential, the record is supplied to StudentsToCareer by ABIEdu or an approved administrator import — with the certificate title, completion date, credential ID and verification link. You can't add verified credentials yourself; that's exactly what makes them trustworthy. Self-reported certifications have their own separate section.
Who can see my profile?
Only you, until you decide otherwise. Every section is private by default. You can set sections to be visible to connections or the public, create a public profile link, and separately choose whether verified employers can discover you.
How do I generate my PDF résumé?
Open your Career Passport and choose 'Download résumé (PDF)'. It's generated from your passport data in a clean professional format.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Data & privacy → Delete account. Your public profile disappears immediately and your data is purged after a 30-day grace period (during which you can change your mind by signing back in and cancelling).
I found a suspicious listing or message. What do I do?
Report it. Use the report control on any profile, listing or message, or the contact form with topic 'Safety concern'. Never pay an 'employer' — legitimate employers on this platform never charge applicants.
How old do I have to be to join?
During the current controlled pilot you must be at least 19 years old (the age of majority in BC) to register. We may later open the platform to younger students once additional safeguards and legal review are complete; that option is not active yet.
What features are available right now?
Your Career Passport and its core tools (profile, verification, privacy controls, PDF résumé) are fully available. Networking, Career Circles, messaging, opportunities, mentorship, events and institutional dashboards are open to controlled-pilot participants. Online billing is off until approved.
